Summary: Luke transforms

Slowly walking to the entrance of the forest, its about midnight, and the full moon is coming. He can feel it, flowing through his veins. "It's behind the clouds..." He said quietly to himself. He remembered the first time he came here, he was 12. The transformations were unbearable, and he had a lot to deal with in the morning. He sighed, he could feel the moon changing him. How he cursed it, and everything about the night.

He finally reached the entrance, looking from left to right and then behind him, he hoped that no one has followed him. He walked into the woods, and it was like walking through an unknown door. The clouds moved away from the moon, and the wolf inside him took over. He yelled and screamed, and felt his body changed. He was used to this by now, but it still brought pain. Transforming into his hidden secret, he paraded the forest. Food... the hungry beast inside him called.

He howled, long and loud at the cursed moon. Calling for his brethren. They came instantly. Growling, Luke howled again, and the others did also. He was the leader, and he started the hunt. He searched long and hard, the beast longed for food, for meat, for the taste of blood. He wanted to rip something apart...

Kairi jumped from her bed as she heard the howl. She gasped for air, as she was midst a nightmare. She got out of bed, and paced around the room. Was she dreaming the howl? Or was it a fragment of her imagination? She looked out the window, "A full moon..." She whispered. "Werewolves..." She wanted to see one...to just get a glimpse. She grabbed her satin petty coat from the back of the huge double doors. She opened them slowly and snuck down the passage to the first floor. Exiting the castle she made her way to the woods.

"Father is going to murder me.." She laughed. "But I have to see a werewolf..." She talked to herself, she did this often, especially when Autumn wasn't around. She got closer and closer to the entrance, and she could hear her heart pounding, with fear and excitement. She inched closer, and walked down the path into the forest. She bit her lip..."You won't die tonight Kairi, things will be alright..." She kept telling herself. But the little voice inside her head kept telling her to go back. Kairi go back! Be the good girl you are and just leave the forest!! But she ignored it.

She came to hers and Autumns favorite tree, the weeping willow. She touched it, and as she did...she heard the howl again. She gasped and jumped...She climbed the tree her poor nightgown getting all ruined and muddy. She heard running footsteps...He was coming near her...now she regreting not listening to her head...

He ran, feeling free. Feeling alive for the first time in that month. He prowled the land. He was King. King of here. Athena would be proud. Running towards a stump, he spotted a dying deer. Licking his lips he walked torwards him. Luke bared his teeth and dug in. The taste consumed him, and tasted good. He tore the deer to pieces, leaving nothing for his pack. They could get food on their own. He looked up, the blood dripped from his mouth. Perfume? Here...now?

Luke could smell her, she wasn't to far from where he stood. He got up and howled again. And ran to where the smell was coming from. He spotted her in a tree, he knows her...but doesn't know where. He growled, she was tresspassing...on his land. He jumped up, trying to get to her. She was up too far, just right out of his reach. Baring his teeth once more. HE wasn't about to leave, not till he had her taste in his mouth.

Kairi looked around, the forest was still...and too quiet. The trees had fear. She could feel it. Getting weary she was about to leave...go back, bu too late. It was there. She screamed and gasped. A werewolf...a live werewolf. She couldn't take her eyes off of it. She saw him jump at her, and her jump more. She couldn't get any higher in the tree. She swallowed...

"Ahh.." she said quietly as his dark eyes stared at her. She bit her lip, she wished she never came out here...She can't stay here all night...someone will come looking for her eventually. She looked down. The wolf sat down. He was waiting for her..."It has to be passed midnight..." She said. She looked down again, those dark eyes never left her. They followed her every which way she went. "Hopeless..." She cried.

Aidan Thatcher quickly walked to the Woods, he sniffed the cool night breeze for the scent of warm blood. His fangs he hid behind his upper lip. If someone was out at this time of night, not likely, he did not want to give himself away. In his years of experiance of being a vampire he had learned to controll his cravings and huntings. He did not drink human blood, but the blood of the cattle that grazed on the farms near the castle.

He heard the loud scream of a man from the woods and then a howl. Searching the navy blue sky for the sight of a full moon, he sighed when it appeared. It must be a werewolf.... 'i wonder where Luke is?' Aidan thought. Then he saw two figures in the distance... His heart pounded in his chest when he recongnized Princess Kairi and Luke in his werewolf state. He knew Lukes judgement was blurred and the wolfs instinct could definitly put the beautiful Kairi in danger. His duty as Knight was to protect the royals, so he ran as fast as he could towards them.

He jumped up into the tree, infront of Kairi and yelled, "Go away you big ugly goof!" He knew Luke would recongize him bcause he had been with him when he was like this many times before. Usually he would turn himself into a bat and fly around, following his friend.

Aidan turned his head towards the Princess and grinned. "Now what in the... " he stopped realizing who he was talking to. "Your highness, what do you think you are doing in the middle of the night....IN THE WOODS?" HE breathed heavily, drawing his sword. "Go!" He pointed towards the creature, "I will deal with you later." Aidan took Kairi's hand and gently tugged it, "Let's go!" He starrred, stunned by her beauty. She was so ravishing that he lost his balance and slipped down the Weeping Willow, landing on the flat of his back. He groaned slightly, as he touched his shoulder and looked at the blood on his fingers. He licked it quickly and tried to sit up. "Real smooth, Aidan.... Knight of making a fool of himself." He whispered. Looking up at the girl, praying she didn't notice becuase she was too distracted by Luke. He met her gaze and closed his eyes feeling his cheeks turn red.

Luke tried making his way closer to her..just to taste her. He growled once more. Footsteps...coming this way...He looked away, for only a minute...More meat... He said quietly in his mind. But then he noticed that this was Aidan...whom he swore to himself that he would never harm.

Getting called a big ugly goof didn't set too well with Luke...he growled again, and looked back up at the girl. Baring his teeth he stared. But the final GO told he he should leave...but he'll be back, and he will have to satisfaction of the girl's taste in his mouth.

Luke howled once more, and ran to find his pack.

Kairi stared at the beast before her. Frightened she couldn't move. She took short deep breaths, and the cold air cut her lungs. She heard the twigs snap in the distance, and saw a silouette of a man coming their way. She then looked back at the beast, and he saw him too. She tried geting out of the tree but the wolf's eyes came back towards her. He ran up into the tree, "Go away you big ugly goof!" She took in her surroundings, she's definitely seen this man before, no doubt that he was a knight. He scared away the wolf...but he didn't go with out a fight. He growled.

"I heard a howl...then saw the moon, I had to see a werewolf...I just had too." She said quietly, as she noticed that the knight was none other than Aidan Thatcher. "Thank you Sir, I didn't think that I was going to make it out of here before morning." She bowed her head. She felt the gentle touch of his hand tug on hers. "I'm coming.." But as she looked down, he was down on the ground, flat on his back. Kairi tried to hide her grin and laughter. She jumped down, "Are you alright?" She asked with a laugh. She grabbed his hand a pulled him up. "Oh, you're bleeding!" She touched the blood on his shoulder, and taking her hand away. His blood was on her fingers..."Come, we must get back to the Castle, it is nearly dawn."

Aidan sat on the hard ground, rubbing his smooth black hair on the back of his head. HE starred at the Princess as she explained why she was roaming around in the middle of the night, hearing her call him Sir, such formality, well, he was not used to. He watched her force back laughter after his fell and then rush to him.

He jerked when he felt her touch his shoulder, "Ouch!" he nearly yelled. The scent of blood made his mouth water, even though it was his own. He pushed back any unhuman urge that entered his mind and breathed deeply. He tried to stand, holding his aching back, but was unsuccessful. The tree branch must have scrapped all the way down his back. 'Oh come on man, don't be such a baby,' he thought. He reached out for his sword with a red dragon envraged on the blade and stuck it into the ground. Grabbing the thick golden handle he pulled himself up. After he stood, the pain weakened. He turned toward Kairi, "Yes we should definitly head back before he returns which I guarantee he will." He said. His stomach growled loudly, he was starving for food and for blood. "Sorry," he muttered softly wrinkling his eye brows and starring behind her into the woods.

HE was lost of words, it was akward. They had not talked since they were 15 or younger. Her bright brown eyes seemed to glow in the dark. He glanced at her face and looked away, glanced at her figure and looked away even longer. Usually he was charming and smooth, but his thirst got the better of him. He felt light headed. Taking Kairi's hand he kissed it and said, "May I escort you back to safety?" He knew it was a stupid question but that did not stop his mouth from moving. He had to tke he back to the castle and then he would return to the forest and hunt because he doubted his sanity would last till he got to the farms outside the castle. He would find a dog or a horse... The thought turned his stomach some more. Aidan began walking towards the castle using his sword as a cane. Knowing he wold have to polish it later. His injuries would heal faster once he had his drink. Breathing normal now he skimmed his mind for something to say to fill in the silence.

Kairi jerked her hand away when he winced. "You are supposed to be a Knight! A big boy!" She teased. Childhood memories flooded her mind. Aidan was always the tough guy, 'cept when he was around her...she pondered a few moments. "That had to be one of the scariest things I've ever seen..." She thought outloud, and looked into his eyes. "How come he didn't attack you?" She asked with questioning eyes.

She felt her hand being touched, and then brought up to his lips, she felt the soft kiss, and she smirked. "Oh, being a gentleman are we?" She laughed. "Yes, you may escort me back to safety, even though I've paraded around these Woods just as long as you have." She teased. "But it's nice to have someone to walk with."

"That had to be one of the scariest things I've ever seen..." Kairi said, making Aidan grin slightly at the thought of what Luke would say to such a remark."How come he didn't attack you?" The question he had prayed he could avoid, but now that Kairi asked it he was forced to answer.

"Because he knows I'm not afraid of him," that was true, but he left out the real answer.

"Yes, you may escort me back to safety, even though I've paraded around these Woods just as long as you have." She teased. "But it's nice to have someone to walk with." He grinned at this statement.

"Yes, but here there be monsters. The woods are not safe at night. YOU KNOW THAT," He replied. He walked faster towards the castle. It was after midnight and he was in a hurry. He knew she would question his haste, but the faster she got into the castle the safer. Shaking away the thought that HE might be the one to put her in danger. They were almost to the Castle doors. He licked his lips and then bit down hard, his fangs cutting into his own lips. The sensation was wonderful... Blood! But his own blood would only hold him off for a sort time. He glanced over at Kairi and sighed a breath of relief when she hadn't noticed his awkward behavior.

He smiled warmly at her, hiding his fangs. He had to be smooth, He brushed back his black hair and placed his right hand on the back of his neck.

"I know these woods aren't safe...just as well as you do." She argued. "But there are somethings that I have to see with my own eyes...maybe next time I come here i'll run into...a vampire..." She said. Kairi stood closer to him as they walked. He seemed a bit odd...but then again Aidan was always strange, even when they were kids. He was a sweetheart, but other times he could be down right nasty.

But then it hit her. "Aidan...why are you out here so late?" She interrogated as she stopped, facing him, staring into those brown hues. She wasn't going to let him pass til she figured out why he would be in the woods in the middle of the night. "Well Aidan? I would love to know." She raised her brow.

She felt something run though her body...a sensation, as she stared into those brown eyes that were cutting through her. She took some time to notice him, of course she hasn't done this since she was like...12. He had been 14 at the time. He was very good looking, and had the muscles to drive any girl her age wild. She smirked. "Well, Aidan I am waiting? You do not want to keep me waiting." She paused. "This will not be pretty."

Aidan jumped as she joked about meeting a vampire on her next visit, and he gave her a disturbed look. He watched as she gazed up at him with her brown eyes. He starred at he relentlessly as she interogated him with questions he did not want to answer.

"I like walking around at night," he answered in a low murmur. He looked away from her and starred at the bright full moon.

"Well, Aidan I am waiting? You do not want to keep me waiting. This will not be pretty." Kairi stated. Aidan let out a grunt of laughter, and smoothly griinned at her. his heart punded when he noticed actually how close to him she was. He began walking again. This time at a slower pace. His thirst had died down a bit, but it still was quite a strain for his self control. He wanted to be back in the woods, with luke and there he could find food and blood.

He picked up his sword that he was using for a cane and twirled it around in his fingers, showing off. Then he took out a hankerchief and wiped it clean of all the mud. Sliding it back in it's rightful spot on his belt he kept striding on. He stretched his arms and his back feeling the strain lift from his spine. He glanced at Kairi and looked away before she noticed. Then he inhaled a deep breath and starred at her, intaking her beauty.

"You're a bit too stubborn don't ya think?" he asked throwing away all formality. He grinned at her, anticipating a blow up of emotion. He loved to see her agrivated, how she narrowed her eyes and crossed her arms. It was worth going through all the trouble of annoying her to see her reaction.

Kairi narrowed her eyes, and folded her arms across her chest. The low murmer must have been his answer, and a total lie. "You're lying aren't you?" SHe asked calmly. "Aidan, you know better than to lie to me..because I always know. Remember..." Another memory flooded her mind. They were just children and her and Aidan were playing in the castle, he broke a valuable trinket, Kairi didn't know and Father was angry. HE said he didn't do that it was like that already. Kairi stared him in his eyes, "He's Lying!" She cried.

She watched him walk away slowly and she just stood there. "Well, I guess I'll just give myself to the wolves, they'll like to have a female taste in their mouths." And she slowly walked back into the woods. "Tell my sister, and family I love them." She said with quite a bit of sarcasm, and continued walking.

Aidan growled loudly towards Kairi's stubborness. He rushed over to her and they stood face to face. "I was not lying... I happen to like the night very much!" His eyes starred into the pair of brown ones. He was growing frustrated. "Can't you ask me these difficult questions tommorrow, when we are dining or out for a walk or something?" He took her hand in both of his and stood holding it. "Just come on, please?" He was begging. He walked beside her, still holding her hand. "I will get you home safely, I promise for if I don't I shall die a slow and painful death."

They were almost to the castle doors, about 40 paces away. He reminded himself countng the amount of steps in is head. 39, 38, 37. It was nerve wrecking. "Here you go My Lady," Aidan whispered starring at the large wooden door. "Go quietly so you don't get into trouble." In his voice there was sadness, but in his stomach there was hunger. He looked at the ground underneath him, avoiding her gaze. Then he heard a loud growl from behind him, making Aidan jump. He pushed the princess behind him and starred, angrily, at the beast.

She watched him come towards her, face to face. She sensed a fear in his voice, or that could be frustration. "Fine..." She said, feeling her hand be taken into his. "Don't beg me, let's just go." She said, and walked beside him, he kept her hand in his, it was warm, while hers were so cold. She walked, her head hung low, as she looked at her feet.

Finally they reached the big wooden door. "Aidan..." She said softly. "I'm sorry I was so stubborn...I'm not usually like that..." Her gaze wouldn't meet hers. She heard a growl, She looked up'. "AIDAN!" She cried, as he pushed her behind him.

Luke followed his friend and Kairi to the huge wooden doors. He growled, making Aidan jump, he heard Kairi scream. He wanted to taste her. "Let me at her...Aidan MOVE!" He thought, they couldn't understand him though. His he could smell her perfume and it made him want her more.

He would battle his best friend if he had too, nothing is going to stop him.

Aidan opened up the huge wooden door and shoved Kairi in there and slammed it behind her. He took a deep breath and glarred at his friend. "Come on now, go find something else to eat." His voice was loud and roared through the silent night. "I'm hungry too, lets go!" He place his hand on his sword, knowing he would not use it violently but as a warning. HE glanced back at the castle to see that the girl that made him so confused was safely home. "I'm thirsty, come on!" He began to walk in a fast pace towards the woods again. His heart pounded in his chest, all self-controll had vanished from his body. The large white fangs showed brightly through the dark night. He turned around once more to see that Luke was following him. It was sure that he would feel his actions tonight tommorrow morning.

He pounced on a black bird that landed infront of him, "Delivery service," he said before stabbing his teeth into the animal and sucking all the blood it contained. He licked his lips and felt his eyes turn from dark brown to a bright crimson. Pure vampire now, no longer human, he looked up at his friend.

She felt herself being pushed into the castle. And the door locked from the outside. She tried opening it. "Aidan!? What's going on?!" She cried through the door. She hit it, and kicked it. As the tears fell. She was so confused. Feeling like her whole body was consumed, she put her back against the door, and slid down. She was now on the floor, crying, and she soon fell asleep.

Many Hours Later


The sun began to rise over the horizon, and Aidan opened his brown eyes to the tall trees above him. He leaned his head forward and was suprised to find that he was lying on the hard ground, covered in dirt. He sat up and a surge of pain climbed from his back to his head. He was completley unaware of the happening of the night before...the last thing he remembered was tasteing the sour taste of blood from a bird.

Horrible thoughts came to his head. What happened to Kairi? Where is Luke? He jumped to his feet, despite the pain, and yelled out Lukes name. He searched for him and he didn't know if his heart could take the shock of finding him laying on the ground. He ran and leaned over him. "Luke?" he asked. He smacked his cheeks gently and shook him, praying he was not harms. Luke had scratches from head to toe and so did Aidan... He had to make sure his best friend was okay and then check on his love... His head ached, but he swallowed down the pain and yelled Lukes name once more.

Aidan smacked Luke over top of the head. "Do you have any idea what you've put me through? Now she's asking questions. Asking me about how I know you and why I was going crazy!"

Then his anger died out and he sat down beside his friend. "I can't remember a single detail about last night," he said shaking his head. "But man, I feel horrible...falling outta trees and who knows what else. But it will all come back to me in an hour or two...so you will have to wait to hear the details..."

He rubbed his eyes and felt a long cut above his temple. Then he remembered shutting Kairi in the castle, surely she is in her bedroom by now. He stood up slowly, holding his aching back. Then he stood up straight suddenly and gave a yell of pain...but thankfully after that the pain weakened. He smacked Luke over the head once more and said, "Get up!" then he laughed and ran away so Luke could not hit him back. "Or would you like to let your mommy give you some more porridge?" Aidan and helped Luke up.

"I'm sorry, I don't want to ruin that wittle relationship you guy have going on..." Aidan could not think of a defense... it was so funny he had to laugh. After he helped Luke up he fell straight the the ground. "Wow, you're a mess!"

"You git, you don't look so good yourself," he said as he pinned Luke to the ground. "And gosh," he waved his hand infront of his nose, "You don't smell that good either!" He chuckled and stood up. He stretched his arms and began walking. He looked back at Luke to make sure he wasn't doomed for another tackle. Suddenly he felt someone run into him. He looked down at Autumn and his eyes widened. "Hello to you too dear......LUKE!" he yelled.
